COMPANY PROFILE

We are a family owned and operated business with our Dealer Principal, Mr Robert Lightfoot commencing business  in 1976 with a used car business in the northern suburbs, in the early 1980's the Suzuki motor vehicle franchise was added and he remained at the helm until he sold that business in December 2005.

Another Suzuki dealership was formed in the CBD in a very small way in 1992, in 1995 a separate business was incorporated, it operated from a new car showroom at 185 Waymouth Street with a renovated service station at 222 Waymouth Street down the road being the used car outlet, this dealership sold new Suzuki motor vehicle's and also specialised in selling quality second hand Suzuki motor vehicles and has grown every year since.

In 1998, Mr Peter Beyer after beginning his career in the automotive industry as an apprentice mechanic began his career at Suzuki in the City as a sales consultant ultimately rising to become our current Used Car Manager.  

In January 2000, Mr Robert Lightfoot bought the then Suzuki Auto Centre, an independant authorised Suzuki service operator and then combined both businesses under the one banner to form the Suzuki in the City of today.

In 2002 more land adjacent was purchased giving the ability to refurbish the building and put the whole dealership operation on the one site.

In 2003 our current Service Manager Mr Viv Morris joined Suzuki in the City bringing with him a wealth of experience and over 30 years in the automotive industry.

In 2008 we welcomed the arrival of Mr Grant Jasper as our new New Car Manager, having been in the automotive industry for the past 20 years and previously employed at IAG Insurance Australia Group he brings diverse experience to the team here at Suzuki in the City.

We are a community minded business and are an ongoing major sponsor of Telethon, having supplied them with a total of 21 new cars for use as their motor vehicle lottery prize over many years, we have also helped many other notable charitable organisations.

We are proud to announce our recent gold sponsorship of the Edwardstown Football Club, we also proudly sponsor many other clubs that our employees are members of including - the Old Collegians Rugby Club, Bellevue Heights Tennis Club and Bow Hills Ski Club just to name a few.

Currently we are the proud employer of 25 people.

We have a dedicated team of sales consultants, with Terry Jones, John Moore and Gary Marsh in our New Car Department and Andrew Priwer and Barry Gisen in our Used Car Department, together they have over 50 years of experience selling new and used cars and will be only too happy to help you with any of your motoring needs.

Our Business Manager Belinda Ryan brings with her over 14 years of experience and has an easy approach to helping you with your financial and insurance requirements to make the purchase of your new motor vehicle a happy and stress free experience.

We are one of the premier Suzuki dealers in Australia and unlike most other dealers we specialise only in Suzuki.

We have been at the forefront of Suzuki motor vehicle sales, service, repairs, parts and accessories in South Australia for more than 25 years and will continue to do so !!!
